obama vs. palin round 1

found this interesting....

"Al-Queda terrorists still plot to inflict catastrophic harm on America and [Obama's] worried that someone won't read them their rights."
----Palin

wow. how republican of her.

his response?

"My position has always been clear: If you've got a terrorist, take him out, anybody who was involved in 9/11, take 'em out.  If the government grabs you, you have the right to at least ask, 'Why was I grabbed?' The reason that you have this principle is not to be soft on terrorism.  It's because that's who we are.  That's what we're protecting.  Don't mock the Constitution.  Don't make fun of it.  Don't suggest that it's not American to abide by what the founding fathers set up.  It's worked pretty well for over 200 years."  ---Obama

I think Palin is related to Karen Walker and Tina Fey

I think Karen Walker and Tina Fey had a love child...and that love child is named Sarah Palin.

Unborn in the USA

So I'm innocently logging into MySpace (which I loathe btw) and  have an email from my good friend Ryan Barone.... (who's one of the greatest men I've known) and he tells me that he saw myself in a documentary called "Unborn in the USA".  Which I was surprised to know about.....I mean I vaguely remember talking to some people on CSU's campus but that was so long ago!  So if anyone knows about it or has a copy....let me know :)

FEED 100.... go buy this bag!!

So I was casually perusing through my new Sunday hangout spot -Whole Foods HQ in downtown Austin- when I came across a bag that blew my mind!! It's called the FEED 100 bag, designed by Lauren Bush (George W. Bush's niece) and the purchase of it "provides 100 nutritious meals to hungry school age children in Rwanda through the United Nation World Food Program's school feeding program."

VERY COOL!!!

and it's only $29...so head to Whole Foods and buy one!!

black guy asks nation for change

So I was walking downtown yesterday and looked over at the newsstand and I saw a picture of Barack Obama and this headline that caught my eye....

"Black Guy Asks Nation For Change"

I almost died laughing! It of course was from The Onion. Here are some of my fav excerpts:
  • "'I'll be honest, when that black man said he would 'stop at nothing' to get change it kind of scared me."
  • "It is estimated that, to date, the black man has asked every single person in the United States for change."
  • "Why's he so eager for all this change?  What's he going to do with it, anyway?"
  • "He just stood there smiling at us for a while, and asked how our food tasted.  Then he went and did the same thing at the next table over.  The nerve of some people."
  • "'What a wacko,' Schaumburg,  IL resident Patrick Morledge said. 'And, of course, after telling us all about how he had the ability to magically fix everything, he went right back to asking for change.  Typical.'"

do i look like a scary democrat?

So weird observation today.... I'm minding my own business, going to Safeway to pick up my new favorite drink (Black Cherry FRESCA!!! mmmmmm....) and on the way in there are two political petitioner people out front. Both of them look at me, look at the grandma walking in next to me and they approach her.  Ok.  Whatev.  I'm walking up and down the aisles steaming over this as this is about the fifth or sixth time this has happened to me since moving to Denver from Fort Collins.  I began conjuring all the pre-determined thoughts these retired-need-a-life petitioners are thinking of me as.  A punk?  A blase twenty-something?  Is it because of my earring that scares these people?  Or is it my gigantic toothy smile I give them as I walk past? Anyways...I'm stewing and stewing and getting mad and finally as I'm leaving I loiter around the entrance feigning interest in flower beds.  Nothing.  NADA!  I finally asked a cart puller inner (that HAS to be the worst job EVER!) what was going on...and she's like.. "Oh it's some McCain thing.." .... whew!  I guess their judgements of me are correct! ;)
