I bought my ticket HOME!!!

YAY!!!!

So my birthday is next month! (WOOT WOOT!!!) ....and I have about 2 weeks of vacation time to get rid of....so I got a ticket to fly back to Denver, Colorado for about 10 days during my birthday!!  It also is incidentally during the Democratic Natl Convention (which my cousin Brian is working) .... should be interesting.... 

BUT my cousin Megan (who's birthday is the day before mine....the 26th).... got us second row tickets to Brandi  Carlile!!!! WOO! I'm starting to become a stalker of hers! :) 

So Boulder, Brandi Carlile, Democrats, and ROCKY!!!! I'm so very excited to see all my family!! :) 

So if you're one of my friends and you know you'll be in Colorado during the last part of August... give me a holla! :)

So I had these AMAZING posts planned... my review of Wall-E, What in the world is Google Analytics, how I've re-fallen in love with Jill Scott's first CD's music and lyrics. BUT. I can't sleep and it's 4am and OH I have to run into work tomorrow on my day off to take care of some evals.... ugh... but alas.... rude chipotle women

First I must start out by saying I am Spanish and am in no way being racially disrespectful to my own people...ha!

Ok, so I've been to the original Chipotle in Denver, Colorado more times than I can count.  One of my FAVORITE places in the entire WORLD is Chipotle.  I've really but unhealthily obsessed for YEARS now... I think I've actually been a fan since 1999/2000 is when I remember first eating there all the time.

  

ANYWAYS.... my point being this--- 

I love you my Mexican-Mamacita line servers, but enough with the attitude.  

From every location I've been to-- Denver, Orange County, NYC, and most recently Austin..... have had the most MOODY-life-hating servers! The other day I go in and it's the ..."How can I help you?" in the suicidal tone.  After asking for Chicken Fajita.... then asking for more fajita, more, NO more please! Same with the hot sauce, more hot sauce please, NO more please, MORE! .....the cheese, everything! Call me crazy but for $6.25 I want my burrito packed.  I love it though becuase I don't look especially Spanish....so two things-- 1. They don't think I can handle my HOT sauce like I can....and 2. They don't know I can understand certain Spanish phrases used to describe me and whomever I'm with.  Not that it's that bad, but 'moron' and 'demanding' have certainly come up....

Now the CLENCHER is that if they are at all irritated me during the execution of the PERFECT burrito (Chicken Fajita, tiny bit of black beans, EXTRA hot (red) sauce, a little bit of green sauce, lots of cheese and a little bit of sour cream) I will always ask for them to stir it up with a fork.  ALWAYS gets an eye roll and I LOVE IT! :) 

SO please take a moment to loosen the bun underneath that hairnet and just relax for a bit... boy-kay? 

i <3 my familia.....

so last night I was fortunate enough to be able to video chat with the family!! THAT made my day... scratch that... MY WEEK! :) they make me so happy!! So I gave them a tour of my new place, the roommate's cat (UCHI!) and the such!! WAY fun!! (even though iChat was being mean and we resorted to Skype....thank you heaven for Skype!!)

haha... so I talked to my amazing friend Megan today and it reminded me of the video we made for the Amazing Race tryouts! LOL! So i found it on YouTube and decided to post it...so lame.. but it came up with another persons version on the links on the side..... YOU decide which is better! 

...and to answer your question... YES the American Idol judges I saw in Denver said I was pretty good...just not amazing... yeah.. take that! :)

So I've been packing (UGH!) and have gotten extremely slap happy and bored.... boxes and the such are starting to infuriate me and embed in my mind causing extreme craziness...

SO I started documenting my inventory by having a photo database of it all by using my iPhone's camera.... that's neither here nor there.... BUT I thought I would put the pieces of art that I actually do have up as they are my favorite and make me smile... the last one is my by far the best in that it's a one-of-a-kind that my friend Emily made for me!!! :) GREAT photographer (now living in Seattle...)

fun weekend!

So my favorite Aunt and Uncle from Orange County came out to visit for the weekend....which was WAY fun!!  We went horseback riding, out to Red Robbin, the gym, a massage, the Kentucky Derby, the mall and to a Rockies game!  (half of that is an inside joke...hehe..)  They're the greats family fo sho...and we definitely had divertirse a costa de alguien!  :)   BUT the Rockies game was a great time and my mom and I enjoyed dancing around... I included the best song they played at the bottom. Here are some pictures from their visit and more are sure to come!!

Saw this painting at my fav vegetarian restaurant in Denver.... WATERCOURSE!!! It's a buffalo giving a squirrel a canteen! How sweet! Go visit the restaurant... it's GREAT...and ask for Kelly Rae... she's my cousin! :)

do i look like a scary democrat?

So weird observation today.... I'm minding my own business, going to Safeway to pick up my new favorite drink (Black Cherry FRESCA!!! mmmmmm....) and on the way in there are two political petitioner people out front. Both of them look at me, look at the grandma walking in next to me and they approach her.  Ok.  Whatev.  I'm walking up and down the aisles steaming over this as this is about the fifth or sixth time this has happened to me since moving to Denver from Fort Collins.  I began conjuring all the pre-determined thoughts these retired-need-a-life petitioners are thinking of me as.  A punk?  A blase twenty-something?  Is it because of my earring that scares these people?  Or is it my gigantic toothy smile I give them as I walk past? Anyways...I'm stewing and stewing and getting mad and finally as I'm leaving I loiter around the entrance feigning interest in flower beds.  Nothing.  NADA!  I finally asked a cart puller inner (that HAS to be the worst job EVER!) what was going on...and she's like.. "Oh it's some McCain thing.." .... whew!  I guess their judgements of me are correct! ;)
